FALL FESTIVAL 2019
The 2019 St. Joseph Catholic Church Fall Festival will take place October 26th and 27th. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate the rich and diverse parish at St. Joseph, and to foster stronger ties within our larger community. We invite all to join us for this celebration.
Saturday, October 26
The festival weekend will kick off at 9:00am on Saturday, October 26th with a 5K run/walk at Breckenridge Park (3555 Brand Rd, Richardson, TX 75082). All ages and skill levels are welcome. Prizes will be awarded for age/sex categories. Signup cost for the run is $20 and includes a t-shirt. If you have a child under 5 years of age the event is free but DOES NOT INCLUDE a T-Shirt. Cost for just a t-shirt is $10.
Waiver must be signed during t-shirt and number pick up. Package pick up will be Wednesday, October 23rd and Thursday, October 24th from 3-7 PM in room 152. For more information, contact Amy Mackey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Runners may also sign up the morning of the race, however there are no guarantees they will receive a t-shirt.
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
There will be a Spaghetti Dinner and Bingo on Saturday night at 6:00pm under the big-top tent at St. Joseph Church (600 S Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081). The cost for dinner, including drinks and desserts, is $10 for adults and $5 for children 7 & under (maximum cost is $40 per family). Bingo is priced separately.
Sunday, October 27
The main event will take place Sunday at St. Joseph Church (600 S Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081). The festival highlights the vibrant multicultural community at St. Joseph with food from Latin America, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Nigeria, Vietnam, and the Philippines (in addition to your favorite fair foods). Food will be served from 11:00am to 6:00pm and is priced separately from games. Entertainers from the local community will display their talents and culture through song and dance from noon to 6:00pm. From noon to 5:00pm, kids of all ages will enjoy an all-access pass to games, face-painting, and inflatables (including a zip-line) with $10 wristbands (maximum cost is $30 per family).
St. Joseph parish will be conducting a blood drive during the parish festival. Carter Blood Care will have a mobile blood unit in the parking lot next to the big tent during the festival on Sunday, Oct 27, from noon until 4:00 PM.
The parish goal is to collect 24 units of blood during this drive. You are encouraged to reserve a donation time by going to the website https://ww3.greatpartners.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/108385
Registered participants will be given priority. Walkin donors are also encouraged to stop by the bus.
Donating blood is the one life saving act that most of us can participate in. Come find out if you are eligible – the test is simple – and then give if you can. The only cost is a little bit of your time. Donating blood - the reward is life saving!
St. Joseph is a diverse parish dedicated to fostering faith, deepening community, and enlivening hope. Mass times are Saturday at 5:00pm (vigil) and Sunday at 7:30am, 8:45am, 10:30am, 12:15pm, 4:00pm (Spanish), and 6:00pm.
