Youth & Young Adult Ministries

High School Youth Ministry

Our mission is to lead youth and their families to encounter Christ and to equip them to live as disciples.

About

We believe every young person should feel like they have a place in the Church and be given the opportunity to encounter Christ in a life-changing way. We seek to live this mission through weekly high school youth nights, sacramental preparation, discipleship groups that allow teens to go deeper in their faith, service days to bring the joy of Christ to others, and retreats throughout the year.

All high school students are invited to join on Tuesdays from 6-8pm this summer for fellowship and fun!

Youth Mass, Sundays at 5:30 PM

Join our community as we encounter Christ in His true presence of the Eucharist. Our Youth Mass has contemporary worship music and a homily geared towards young people, although all ages are welcome.

We also invite young people to serve as Musicians, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers and Greeters. Contact Ojas Inamdar at ojasi@stjosephcc.net if you are interested in serving.

Encounter: HS Faith Formation

Sundays, 7:00-8:30pm

Youth gather together in a large group then break into small groups. Encounter is for all high schoolers—post-confirmation, confirmation preparation, first communion preparation, and youth OCIA.

First communion, confirmation, and youth RCIA require registration, which is open during the late spring and closes July 31. Post-confirmation can register all year.

Parent Volunteer Team

We are always in need of parents to help with various tasks such as serving food, driving to and from events, or serving as a chaperone. This is a great opportunity to accompany your teen in their faith journey. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ojas at ojasi@stjosephcc.net

Middle School Youth Ministry

About

Middle School is an important time in life, as many young people make lasting decisions about their faith during this time. St. Joseph is here to help all 6th, 7th and 8th graders grow in their faith and live out their lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. Come join us as we seek after deeper relationships with Jesus.

VBS

You may spot a few masks in the video (hello, 2020 😅). No masks required this June — just families ready to have fun and grow in faith together!

Last summer, we hosted the amazing team from Creating Saints for our first ever FAMILY VBS. It was such an amazing day that we’ve invited them back for Trail Blazers, the second in a 6-part series of VBS’ written specifically for families.

This program was designed for families with elementary aged children in mind – HOWEVER, we welcome younger kiddo’s and older kiddo’s! This is a day for the entire family (grandparents & multigenerational families are welcome!)

Family VBS: Trail Blazers – June 20

Trail Blazers is a family-centered day of faith, fun, prayer, music, games, activities, and community designed for parents and children to participate in together.

Families will experience:

Faith-filled family activities

Music and movement

Hands-on experiences for all ages

Games and community building

Prayer and Scripture

Opportunities to grow in faith together as a family

We hope your family will join us for this special one-day event from 9am-3pm on June 20th.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED NO LATER THAN MAY 20th

Vacation Bible School Update

For many years, St. Joseph has hosted a traditional week-long Vacation Bible School experience for children and families. As our parish and ministry needs continue to shift, we have found that sustaining a large week-long VBS requires a significant number of parent and volunteer leaders. Unfortunately, we did not have enough volunteers this year to offer a traditional VBS program.

If you have a heart for helping create a future VBS experience at St. Joseph and would like to be part of a planning or volunteer team for Summer 2027, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at faithform@josephcatholic.org.

Young Adults Ministry

About

Whether you are in college or you’re married with kids, or anywhere in between, St. Joseph strives to build community and foster the faith of our young adults.  We have a growing group of 18 to 39 year olds and we are seeking to ignite the faith of the Richardson & Garland area!

Our hope is to create a community that every young adult that comes to our events can find a place to be fed and belong! We offer monthly large group gatherings, small groups, sports nights, retreats, and more.
