As your Church, we are here for you. Though circumstances are unique to each family, some guidelines remain constant.

In the case where you can call the church and request the clergy visits for the “sacrament of the dying”, please call 972-809-0762. Our clergy will do their best to accommodate.

Once your loved one has passed, please call 972-692-4512, so our community can start praying for you and your loved ones. We can help you by adding their names to our intercessions, discussing funeral date options, and making an appointment for you so that an hour will be set aside for you to finalize the details.

Saturday funerals are highly unlikely as Saturdays are saved for sacraments. Funerals are held Monday through Friday at 10:30 or 1:30. To coordinate essential members of the funeral team and provide time for the funeral home and the church calendar to align, do not plan on a funeral within the first seven days of calling the office. I am happy to email you questions about the service or meet with you in person on the details of the funeral. We will have a week to coordinate the details so please leave me a message at and I will provide you with the materials needed to move forward in a timely manner.

Pre-planning a service is possible. Please email me at speterson@stjosephcc.net and I can send you our current song and funeral reading lists. I recommend this as many family members are challenged with "What would mom/dad want?" These records can then be kept at your home with your will, power of attorney, etc.

If you are interested in purchasing a niche in our Columbarium, appointments can be made by calling 972-231-2951. The Church is a strong tool to have as you face a difficult time.
