Columbarium
The columbarium has two sections: the labyrinth and the courtyard. There are four rows of niches in each section. Even though there are some niches available in the labyrinth section, most of the available niches are in the courtyard section. The following picture shows the view of the labyrinth section from the main entrance to the columbarium.
The columbarium has an entrance from the Forum area of the St. Joseph campus. The following picture shows a view of the columbarium’s courtyard section from the Forum.
Each niche accommodates the cremains of two people. As cremains are added into the niche, the individuals name, date of birth, and date of death are engraved onto the niche cover. The pictures below show examples of a niche with two individuals interred.
Columbarium Regulations
These Rules and Regulations have been adopted by the Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church July 8, 2022.
These Rules and Regulations may be amended by the Pastor, any Administrator of the Parish (appointed by the Bishop) or the Bishop by written appendage to this instrument.
No one shall place any ornaments or messages on the Columbarium wall or in the courtyard in which the Columbarium is located.
Flower arrangements being left for the dearly departed should be in a container that will not break and cause injury.
Live flowers may be placed In the Columbarium. We ask that live plants and flowers be used in the columbarium.
Under harsh Texas elements plants will be removed at the discretion of St. Joseph Staff once the life of the vegetation has been met.
Do not leave plants in containers you want returned. Maintenance personnel may remove flowers when they deem it appropriate.
