St. Francis Ethiopian Catholic Community
The St. Francis Ethiopian Catholic Community gathers for prayer, Bible reading, study of the catechism and celebration of the Mass, where possible, in the Amharic language.
Due to the unique Ge'ez rite, most Ethiopians are not accustomed to the Western celebration of the Mass, and because of that, they tend to turn to Ethiopian Orthodoz and Baptist churches.
The main purpose of the group is to gather dispersed Ethiopian Catholics to support and strengthen their faith and belief in one holy Catholic Church.
Membership is open to Ethiopian Catholics who are Amharic speaking
Meetings are the first and third Sundays of the month from 5-7 p.m. room 152PC.
