Ministry of Lector
“My word shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it.”
The Ministry of Lectors faithfully proclaims God’s Word to the assembled faithful during worship services. The ministry stresses belief in the ever-active power of the proclaimed word. In the words of the Second Vatican Council, “In the liturgy, God is speaking to his people and Christ is still proclaiming his gospel.”
A reader usually reads at one Mass per month.
