Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Ministry assists people who are experiencing a crisis or trial in their lives by providing a one-on-one presence and listening while allowing the Lord to work through us.
Prayer is a centerpiece of this work, along with active listening and asking questions. We provide ongoing visits with persons who need such assistance. Our ministry is strictly confidential and ministers are continually supervised and receive ongoing education.
If you would like to walk with others who are in a time of trial and become a Stephen Minister, you must complete an application that is followed by an interview and discernment to select new candidates for this ministry. The candidates undergo 50 hours of classroom training prior to becoming Stephen Ministers. Training is provided on topics such as active listening, confidentiality, depression, suicide, divorce and other related topics.
Meetings for Stephen Ministers are the first and third Mondays of the month at 7:00 p.m.
